The bench came before the shop.
Before the website, before the export licence, before anyone in the family had spoken to a customer in Toronto — there was a pitch bowl, a set of punches ground by hand, and a boy being told his acanthus leaf was nowhere near deep enough.
Jaipur was laid out in 1727 with the silversmiths’ quarter written into the city plan. That is not a marketing line; it is town planning. The trade was here before the buildings around it, and it stayed because the workshops never became factories. Chasing is taught at a bench, by a father, over years, and there is no shortcut anybody has yet found.
What changed for us is only the map. The people buying now live in Sydney and Dubai and New Jersey. They are often second-generation, setting up a mandir in a house their parents have never seen, or looking for something to send home that is not another box of sweets. They want the real thing and they want to know it is the real thing.
So we tell them. Every piece on this site was photographed the week it came off the bench. The silver was assayed by the Sarafa Traders Committee, three streets away — the same mark our own trade buys against. If you want to see your piece before it is packed, ask, and we will video-call you from the workshop and turn it over in our hands.
That is the whole proposition. We are not trying to be Cartier. We are trying to be the workshop you would have walked into if you had been in Jaipur that week.

Not a ticket queue. Message the workshop and someone who has held the piece will reply, usually the same day.
Thirty days, no argument
If a piece is not what you expected, send it back. We pay the return freight on anything that arrives damaged.
